middle tier but nothing great. assuming you're trying to get into a "top tier" fraternity here look at KA, SAE, Phi Tau, Phi Psi, or Sig Pi (no real order). Other great houses but not considered the best are Fiji, Sig Ep, Phi Delt, and Theta Chi maybe. No real order again. I wouldn't really look at any houses besides those.
Also, I was a transfer student as well and got into one of the "top tier" fraternities without knowing anyone so you shouldn't have a problem, especially if you were in DKE at UVA which is a really good fraternity there if I remember (I've got a few friends at UVA). Anyways good luck Miami's greek life is sick and you're gonna love it no matter what house you get a bid from.

Unfortunately If you are an active you have pledged your loyalty to your fraternity for life. You have to be expelled from your fraternity or ask your nationals to release you. And with a dke chapter on campus that is unlikely If you only pledged and did not go active. No problem. Look it up
