top 3 sororitys
by: CuriousJust wondering, DG has always been well regarded as top 3 at Miami. Wondering when and how they got replaced by Alpha Phi. When I was there Theta, Pi Phi and DG were top three and that had been the case for years. Surprised and sorry to hear things have changed so much for DG

This is not true. As someone who can give you an unbiased opinion and has older siblings that went here and knows how it's been, it looked a little like this:
3 years ago: DG, Theta, AXO, Pi Phi were top in that order
2 years ago: theta, DG, pi phi, AXO were top in that order
Last year: theta, pi phi, DG, aphi were top in that order
This year: theta, pi phi/alpha phi are top and DG would be 4th
AXO and DG have both been dropping while aphi and pi phi have been rising over the course of several years. PiPhi def wasn't top 3 a couple years ago cause they got kicked off and AXO was still really awesome then so idk how you're saying it's been like that for years.
However, DG has been slipping fast, and since AXO's pledge class improved this year compared to precious years, AXO and DG are on the same level. You ask "how" this happened, it's simply some sororities do better in rush and some do worse and it's hard to pick yourselves up if you get one class that isn't as good as before
All the top sororities are great, including DG. I just thought id give an honest answer to how things have changed over the years. I honestly think all 5 sororities are awesome.

How are you so well informed? I still feel like a lot of good girls went DG this year. I'm not being snotty I'm just genuinely curious how you know how girls who got cut from others had to go DG, because it seems to me like their pledge class isn't as bad as everyone says. Are girls talking about it? I'm a junior, kind of out of the PNM loop.

Yeah a lot of people talk about what their first and second choices were, where they got cut, and I saw where all of my friend group went and the girls on my floor and people I know. You can definitely see a trend of which sororities were most desired during rush and which cut the most girls.

Alpha phi pledge class just doesn't seem genuine to me. Sorry, but I feel like it's a lot of girls presenting themselves the way they want to be perceived, not who they really are.. "Pseudo" behavior in my opinion, feel like they are kind of fake. Their video is the perfect reference to my opinion of that fake feeling I get from them.

Their video is only sophomores and only contains the same few girls.. Definitely doesn't tell you anything about the whole sorority. My roommate is an Alpha phi and her friends are some of the nicest girls I know. I actually didn't get into DG or aphi but still admire them both.

I agree that while DG isn't top 3 anymore, I still think they're a great sorority and can be difficult to get into with some really nice and cute girls. They're really fun too. Still one of the better sororities no doubt!

You're sugarcoating it. I'm gonna be brutally honest for a moment. Alot of the girls in DG look sloppy and beat and DG has been getting all the leftovers from the top 3 sororities, especially this past year in rush. I suspect next year will be even worse. A lot of girls this year went DG because Theta, PiPhi or APhi cut them. And it's obvious who is getting better or worse by the new pledge classes and by which frats they're hanging with. Don't get pissy cause I have friends in both DG and APhi and also Theta and PiPhi but this is what I've seen.
