sorority comments

zeta probably takes sophomores, pi phi might and i know that chi o takes sophomores. also look into phi mu (i know that they take about 3 every year) and kappa delta and gamma phi beta if you want to be in a good sorority rushing as a sophomore.

DG, AXO, Theta, APhi, PiPhi. learn it, live it, love it. Kappa and DZ are cute and fun girls in a close second.

i think that we will definitely see some chapters rise up this year. there are some mid tiers that are working hard, getting their acts together, and on the rise. these chapters will show themselves during recruitment this year!!!! but good luck to everyone during recruitment...especially to pnms!!! :) rush is an amazing experience and joining a sorority is honestly one of the best decisions that i have ever made. THE BEST OF LUCK!!!

There are always mid tier sororities "getting their acts together" on this campus. But the fact remains that it is extremely hard to break out from mid tier to top tier. There will ALWAYS be top, mid and bottom tier sororities and they will probably always be somewhat the same as they are now. There are tons of great girls at Miami and they can't all be in a top tier sorority. There might be a little movement between the top seven, but the sororities that are top seven right now, will always be top seven. I'm in a sorority that is considered mid and I'm just being real.

Do people go out during rush week?

People usually don't go out, because they are looooooooong days. Most people just want to go to bed after each day.

Dear potential new members,
Just remember to be openminded especially during open house. You will hear lots of "tent talk" about the top sororities and it's hard not to be influenced, but not every girl makes it into one of them. Legacies get cut, cute girls get cut, smart girls get cut...you just never know what is going to happen. Stick with it and it will be worth it. Being in a sorority really helps you feel like you belong to the Miami community. Good luck!!
