i'm a freshman and i'm just wondering... i know i should go into rush with an open mind and all that good stuff... but what really makes or breaks a sorority at miami?? and what should i look for in a chapter?? please be honest, i keep hearing the same stuff over and over again but i want to know why you honestly chose the chapter that you ended up in

Make up your own mind. GO TO THE SPRITE DATES!!! thats why we have them! We want you all to come to those and become more familiar with all of us. Get to know the sororities and you wont have to go on this site to see what everyone says. You have to make the effort --- thats the make or break. Your future sorority is going to be a big part of the rest of your time at miami and we want you to make the right choice for yourself. Look for the chapter where you feel that you could fit it, where you would get along with the girls and they share the same values as you. Ask the sorority girls lots of questions -- we want you to ask us! Go in with an open mind and try not to have your heart set on a specific sorority --- give everyone a chance. Thats the best advice I have.

ito me, this is what it seems like socially. but its so hard to tell because there are so many fraternity chapters at miami, and its especially hard with the lower tiers:

pi phi, AXO-- usually with phi tau, phi psi, SAE

theta, kappa, dg, alpha phi-- usually with KA, Beta

DZ, Zeta, Fuzzie, Gphi-- sigma nu, sig ep, kappa sig, sigma chi, sigma pi, theta chi and sometimes KA and beta

KD, Chi O, Phi Mu-- Pike, DU, Pi Kapp and sometimes sigma nu, sig ep, kappa sig and sigma chi. on a rare occasion, KA and beta

ADPi, AOPi, Tridelt-- DU, Chi Phi, Delta tau Delta and sometimes pike

if you miss some of the sprite dates, do you get a chance to meet and socialize with the sororities during rush?

you will be able to meet girls from every chapter on our campus. enjoy yourself and go with the flow during rush, every chapter is amazing on our campus and all of the sororities have fabulous girls!
