Is being in a top tier sorority that big of a deal? Thats all anyone seems to talk about on this site.

If you talk to a guy, apparently yes. But luckily being in a sorority has literally nothing to do with the male gender. You need to find where you're comfortable, whether that's a top, middle, or lower tier sorority. In real life, tiers have no bearing on anything other than maybe what frats you have socials with. Don't go into a sisterhood you're not comfortable with because some self-important frat guy calls it relevant. Every sorority has different types of girls and the "system" that everyone keeps talking about was made so that you find the people that you want to be sisters with. These are probably going to be your friends for life, so why would you want to join somewhere you don't feel you fit in?

TL;DR: No, being "top tier" is not that big of a deal. Go where you want to go.
