advice for pnm's
by: Sorority Girls
I remember that when I rushed, I had a lot of questions about the whole process. I'm a junior in a "top" sorority (not that it matters, I just figured that someone would ask), so I've been on both sides. I just wanted to share some advice/wisdom to those of you getting ready to find your Greek home in a few weeks.
- First and perhaps most importantly, we want to impress you as much, if not more, than you want to impress us. REMEMBER THAT. We get a better pledge class if more girls want us, and we are trying our hardest to impress you, whether we think that you'll fit in or not. So don't be nervous, because we're probably more so than you.
- Rec letters and legacy status help a LITTLE bit, but they mostly serve to help you get through the first round. All sororities call girls back on a point system, and those things will be added to your prescore points along with the points you earn each round. Being a legacy does not guarantee you a spot in any sorority. If they don't like you, you won't be called back, regardless of having those things. If you don't have a rec letter or legacy status, DON'T WORRY! If they like you, they will keep calling you back.
- Try not to talk about sororities you like/don't like/are going to pref with your friends. Everyone has different tastes, and you are trying to find YOUR home for the next four years. Don't let anyone else's opinions sway you.

You can go to a max of 3 parties on the day of preference round. Each party lasts one hour, so you'll definitely have time to go back to your dorm and hang out in between rounds. You can change/nap/do whatever during that time! You just have to go to your location to rank at 9!
