"guaranteed sorority bid?"

by:

Can someone explain how the "guaranteed bid" works for rushing sororities? Is everyone guaranteed a bid if you go through the process following all of the rule? does this apply to sophomores too or just freshmen?

If you complete the entire rush process without missing any of the parties, you're guarenteed a bid at the end of it. It just may not be from a sorority you necessarily wanted

This is untrue. You're only guaranteed if you do all that and are asked back to a sorority's preference round. If you are cut by all sororities before pref round you are not guaranteed a bid. A couple of the have trouble making quota (AGD) so it's unlikely they would cut you before pref but it's still an option

commenter "no" is correct. If you make it to PREFERENCE round, and rank ALL of your options on your bid card (meaning you state that you are willing to accept a bid from all of the sororities you attend preference round for, but obviously you still get to rank them by which one you want the most), you WILL get a bid. It could be to your first choice, it could be to your second, and it could be to your third. Girls DO get cut from rush completely (like 2 every year) But it's much more likely that a girl will drop out of rush because she doesn't like the sororities that want her back. The only ways you could not get a bid are: To get cut completely from rush, To Drop out of rush, or to not rank all of your options on your bid card (basically, you hate one of them so much that you will not accept a bid from them--- DO NOT DO THIS. Instead, rank them and then decline a bid if you get it from the one you hate. Not ranking all of your options actually makes it less likely you get a bid, because of the way they do the math. There were girls last year who would have gotten bids to their first choice if they had not refused to rank all of their options)
