What “TOP” means at Miami

by: Pulled From Other Post

If you want to be in a top sorority you have to KNOW SOMEONE. Top at Miami doesn’t mean best - it just means hard to get into. The girls in these 4 sororities curate a new member class based on who they know - they don’t want to risk giving a bid to an unknown girl who may say the wrong thing, not like the right frat guy, or post something tragic on IG.

All the sororities here can give you a good experience. Thinking these 4 are the only ones worth joining is detrimental. These 4 sororities will have to cut like 80% of the PNMs right off the bat. Think about that - only about 200 girls will ever get to talk to APhi (or the other 3 you mentioned) during formal recruitment. And APhi can only bid about 50ish girls. So where are those other 150 girls going? TriDelta, ChiO, Fuzzie, Kappa, AOPi, PhiMu, KD and other sororities you don’t even bother to mention.

And If you think APhi, DZ, AXO, and Theta have the exact same top 200, you have no idea how recruitment actually works. I know girls who’s final two chapters at pref were APhi and Fuzzie, Theta and AOPi, DZ and ChiO … stop thinking so narrowly about who is “top tier.”

The best sorority is the best sorority FOR YOU. All the sororities do the same stuff here and each can give you a great experience. Just keep an open mind and don’t let recruitment mess with your self worth.

Good luck finding your forever home!

DZ is not in this group. They get leftovers after Aphi and Theta select their mcs. Some girls actually rush and want AXO, Zeta, and Kappa, but no one rushes and actually wants DZ. Sorry. It's only preffed if you've dropped by the others. They're OK honestly, but sort of looked at like the discarded top tier girls.
