rushing in the spring
by: miamiI know many girls I have met this year plan on rushing in the spring. I had one class that brought my GPA and I'm thinking of not rushing because of this. I am retaking the class over the J-term for a grade change but I know those classes don't count when being considered for rush. Will I have fun next semester and next year If I don't join a sorority? I'm not exactly sure what to do considering the majority of the people I know will be rushing. Also is it weird to rush as a sophomore?

Not sure what ur gpa is but if u have at least a 2.5 u can rush. The Panhellenic website shows the minimum gpas for each chapter , some require higher than a 2.5 . I also Know some chapters make exceptions to the minimums listed on their websites. Not weird to rush as a sophomore u can also informal in the fall which can be nice since u will know the chapters better. U can still have fun in the spring going to ur friends events if they rush

I say as long as you have a 2.7ish it wouldn't hurt to try. A lot of chapters will drop girls with lower GPAs but it doesn't hurt to try. If you don't like any of the chapters you are left with, you can just drop the process and try again later. Try to shine in other parts of your "application".
