Nope saw the girls that were at their table. You’re gonna be good. Strong nationals lots of Pi Phi sisters coming in to help. Pi Phi was top tier here not too long ago. Not at all like Phi sig because it was established here already. Lots of Pi Phi Miami alums backing it.

Just bitter they aren’t in a better sorority. These are girls who thought they were too good for kappa and mad they got cut by dz.

It's going to be very rough. It's a colony for three or four years before it's even recognized as a real chapter.

yes, to answer your question, it's going to be weird.

Although Pi Phi has closed 9 collegiate chapters in the past six years, True Tried Friend remains firm in its objectives by offering membership to nearly everyone.
Wearers of the arrow badge are now more inclusive, including people of all genders and races.

So will girls from other chapters actually transfer here or are they just here to help recruit?

They probably won’t be weird but they won’t have a strong chapter until likely three- four years from now it takes a lot of work and time to recolonize. It’s a great place to go if you want immediate leadership!

Definitely not strong nationals. Nationals are in turmoil as members have turned their backs over DEI issues. There’s a whole team evaluating rituals right now because they are offensive to non-Christians. Religion isn’t part of pledging so New Members don’t know what they’re getting themselves into until initiation.

Neither the New Member Pledging Ceremony, New Member Meeting Ritual nor the Initiation Ceremonies mention
Christ. However The Pi Beta Phi Meeting - Opening Service has several sentences which agnostics, atheists and members of other religions find objectionable.
HQ. is about to remove these Christian words in order to become more DEI.
There are no crosses or other Christians symbols on the badge or crest.

So is pi phi def changing to a non-Christian ritual? I heard there was a study being done by nationals, but have those decisions been made?

so does this mean the Bible would no longer be a part on initiation????

by: TOTT

bible and religion would still likely be a part of ritual.there is no way nationals would change the creed which is fully Bible based. some chapters allow members to substitute “God” for “Christ”when they recite ritual if it doesn’t align with a members personal beliefs.

Basically they were the top tier and partied a bit hard one night. They served their time and are coming back. Go check them out

By: Hey why
by: yes, but

If you are checking them out and are not Christian be sure to find out about their rituals before initiation so you know what you are getting yourself into…

If you are an atheist, agnostic, pagan or Muslim, Buddhist or Hindu perhaps you should chose another Greek sorority.
The mention of Jesus/Christ occurs in The Opening Meeting Ritual for active members. It comes from both Old Testament and New Testament.

Most sororities are founded on Christian beliefs and have Christian references and parts during ritual and initiation….idk why pi phi is being called out but this applies to most sororities

By: Ummm
by: 4Ummm

I too wonder why Pi Phi is being called out with DEI. comments when many other sororities have Christian beliefs and references.
Non Christian Pi Phis are not forced to recite and can remain silent during several Jesus/Christ mentioning in The Ritual for Opening Active Chapter Meetings.
All prospective members should ask Pi Beta Phi about any religious reference and then decide whether to continue seeking membership or find another group more aligned with their values.

pi phi needs to be more forthcoming. as a pnm, I remember asking about ritual and being told it was secret and that members don’t find out about it until initiation. Above posts are conflicting. Some indicate ritual will no longer be referencing Jesus. Other posts indicate that ritual is potentially offensive to non-Christians, and that members of other religions should look at other Greek organizations. If pi phi doesn’t want to change the ritual to be DEI, then they need to tell pnms about the Jesus stuff before they join. It’s not fair to pnms to tell them “you could have asked” when there is no indication during recruitment that they are joining a Christian organization.

Why is Pi Beta Phi being very harshly criticized by those demanding the organization get rid of their "Jesus stuff" in order to become DEI. These same people aren't telling other sororities to remove Christian symbols from their badges and crests along with all Christian references from public mottos.
DEI. statements such as "Jesus stuff" is religious bigotry. There would be a tremendous scandal and rightly so if such vicious comments were made against the revered figures of other religions.\n\n\n\n\n

Not sure, but I believe other organizations with Christian roots no longer reference “Christ” in order to be DEI. I don’t think Pi Phi is being singled out. Pi Phi Nationals wouldn’t be reevaluating their rituals if they didn’t feel that there is a problem. They have readily admitted that their ritual can be offensive to Non-Christians. I applaud them for attempting to come up with a new and more inclusive ritual.

@buckeye said -I don’t think the issue is so much that an organization can’t be Christian or have a Christian ritual. Rather, I think it’s being transparent about it. Of course, pi phi can keep Christ as a part of ritual if they choose to do so, but they need to let potential new members know. Look at it another way. If you were a Christian and at the end of your pledge ship found out that your organization recited a weekly ritual praising Allah, how would you feel? If you knew about this ritual before you accepted a bid, you would be able to make an informed decision. The issue isn’t that Christianity is a part of ritual, the issue is that new members don’t know this until initiation.

Problem began decades and decades ago when Pi Phis failed to inform general public that its private ritual - The Ritual For Opening Membership contain Christian references.
Now there are an ever increasing group of influential Pi Phis who are Christian phobic and are successfully removing "jesus stuff" under the guise of DEI.
HQ. declaring in 2016 that membership was now being offered to all genders and increasing outreach to all races is wonderful; a true landmark decision. What I am deeply offended by is bigoted true friends using their hatred of Christians to get rid of any and all Christian references.

Not sure about the advice on this site:

"All prospective members should ask Pi Beta Phi about any religious reference and then decide whether to continue seeking membership or find another group more aligned with their values.”

This goes against everything that pnm’s are told about steering clear of topics such as politics and religion.

In 1867 when Pi Beta Phi was established, the Founders were Christians and hence some of the private ritual reflect this. Failure of Pi Phis to mention this to pnms. has caused much havoc.
When pnms. who are Christian phobic become Pi Phis, they feel deceived, becoming very angry and bitter, demanding under the banner of DEI. all the "jesus stuff" be eliminated.
HQ. is listening to these increasingly anti Christian True Friends and is in the process of removing offending words from Opening Meeting Ritual for Members.
Currently unknown whether the "jesus stuff" Creed taken from Philippians Chapter 4, Verse 8 is also going to be eliminated.
