Things to know for PNMs
by: heads up
Just a few bits of advice for you.
Clean up your Instagram. You know, just post the usual... your sport or clubs, homecoming, halloween, spring break, prom, graduation, and summer travel. It's all become basic. Once you get here, post the usuals... dorm room pics, pics with who you are friends with... we want to see this.
Make sure your Instagram is public.
Rec letters mean nothing. But if you feel inclined to bother people with writing them, get them in early. Don't wait. If you don't have a connection with someone in a chapter, it can maybe help to have the letter and then we can check out your Instagram.
Also, don't get your hopes up because you are a legacy. Too many people are legacies and it literally means nothing anymore. It doesn't help you.
Get out and socialize. We want to see you out and get to know your name. Go out with the people in your halls and classes.
Use your connections with actives. If you know someone make sure they know your name and know you are rushing. I you are interested in that chapter, tell them.
Remember, we are watching. So if you're out, don't get sloppy. Most sororities don't take risks.
That's all. See ya soon!

Honestly the thing that helps the most is knowing someone or more than one person in a sorority already. You need them pulling for you or adding you to their Wish Book.
The good chapters have their eye on the girls they want well before recruitment actually begins. What this means is that we are watching you all fall semester. Active sophomores are already looking for potential littles.
This is especially true for in-state Ohio girls. We tend to already know people in more than one good chapter and I know it helps.

If you are going to follow just a few chapters on Instagram, FOLLOW ALL THE CHAPTERS. Things don't always go as planned during recruitment for pnms. Just talk to the hundreds of girls that dropped last year and the year before. No one wants to see that a pnm is following just a few and only interested in certain ones, it's a turnoff to even the top chapters. Like no one wants to give a bid to someone with a pre-existing ego. The chapters have all the power until pref.

Remember pnms - we hold the power until pref
That reason alone should be enough for you to KEEP AN OPEN MIND because it's very likely you won't end up where you thought you wanted to be initially
We will cut you early so you have time to fall in love with another chapter.
We need YOU to stick with recruitment. It makes all chapters better. Too many amazing girls drop. We can't take a pc of 100 girls while another chapter gets 20... trust me, we have to cut girls we really like.
