worth it?
by: TransferGirlSo I'm transferring to Miami next year from a school with no social Greek Life. I honestly know nothing about the rush process for sororities, but a ton of people keep telling me I should rush (they told me about this site). Is it worth it to rush as a sophomore transfer student, since I really don't know anyone? There's a few girls from my high school in sororities but I'm not really friends with them.

Yeah you'll be totally fine! Girls who transfer and rush as sophomores actually have a better chance at getting into a top sorority than girls who went to Miami and for whatever reason didn't go Greek their freshman year. You have nothing to worry about it really betters your odds as a sophomore

Write a note in the section where you can add something that you transferred and/or make it one of the FIRST things you mention when you talk to girls. Otherwise many will cut you first round. "We don't take sophomores" comes out of a lot of girls' mouths unless there are other circumstances. Yours might be good. If you like any of the girls from your high school, I'd suggest reaching out to them ahead of time! :) Best of luck! Greek life is awesome.

If you prefer a very laid back sorority you can likely join AGD or Alpha Epsilon Phi in the fall. If you are very outgoing and like big adventure rush in the spring. Both of the mentioned sororities are super girls and do many of the same events and activities everyone else does.
