How much does it matter what sorority I am a part of when interviewing for jobs?

I sense the sarcasm in your post but it could matter a lot when it comes to networking with alumni sooo there's your answer. Join a sorority that's strong nationally. AKA Chi O, DZ, Theta, Kappa, Zeta, Alpha Phi, Pi Phi, DG, AXO, Tri Delt, A O Pi

It doesn't matter at all, though it does help to join a bigger one nationally. Like I doubt a small local, one chapter sorority has the same clout as a strong national organization.

I can tell you my mom is a hr manager for a Fortune 500 company. She likes to ask the greek question and then zeros into the national philanthropy. Also many h/r people now come to this site to compare by candidates school, google facebook searches for the campus chapter and anything they can dig up on you. There a couple of national favorites which are Delta Gamma, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Zeta and Delta Delta Delta. Basically because they represent a long legacy of the best national structures. It does not take away from any other sorority. You will also want to state on your resume if you held and office and what committees you were on. This helps describe your exposure to positions with organization or say you are wanting sales job you would hope to see that the candidate was on a social committee or member chair. So it really is important on this site to keep comments respectful! sorry for the rant but I had this answer and you do not need to agree it is just fact. Again does not take away from any other sorority experience.

I agree. All of those sororities mentioned above are widely known for being nationally acclaimed sororities. Adpi is another one as, they're known for having a lot of sisters in leadership positions and Chi O as well.

Go according to big nationals and huge legacies. That'd be: Kappa, XO, DG, KD, Theta, Pi Phi, and Tri Delt. These are the old school sororities.

Also, make sure that specific chapter hasn't gotten in trouble for quite a few years (so, not Pi Phi, Fuzzie, Tri Delt, or Zeta.)

Good luck!

I'm not sure how much it matters because everyone has a different view on sororities, whether they were in one or not. But I agree with the other posters. If you're in one with a strong national presence, you're probably more likely to meet someone in the same sorority during the interview process, or at least someone who has heard of it and can vouch for you.
