Underground pledging

How common is underground pledging for frats? And if so, which frats do that? I’m aware that frats would probably rather not do that but I’m just curious.

pretty much everyone takes at least a couple undergrounds each year

Are they still treated like traditional members. And when would they pay dues, would it be next year when they’re an official member?

Underground members at my chapter are viewed as the same. Only difference is they are not registered through the school. If they raise their gpa they can become above ground. Doesn’t really matter when pledging

Do they still pay dues when underground or do they do that when above ground? And do they still get to go to Tennessee and all

for my chapter they pay dues through Venmo, get brought above ground if they get their GPA up. Aside from how they pay their dues and not officially being registered w nationals they are treated exactly the same as above ground members. No difference whatsoever.
