can fraternities drop without reason?

Can/Do fraternities drop kids without reason? Meaning can/do they drop not because a kid is doing bad with pleding/misbehaving/bad grades/etc. but because they just feel like doing so?

I know a kid who got dropped like four days before initiation at another school and he did nothing wrong. That fraternity bidded/hazed him for the sake of doing so with no intention of him ever being initiated.

Yeah obviously. You're a pledge and they can do whatever they want

But it very rarely happens. Anybody with morals wouldn't drop you that late

If you're worried about getting dropped before you get a bid then you're already the worst pledge ever, in the worst pledge class ever.
