how big is greek like on campus?

Rather than living in a sorority house off campus as sophomores, sorority girls at Miami live in dorms on "sorority quad". So, you would be in a corridor with all sophomore members of your sorority like living in a house. You also have a suite which is like an open space for sorority members to gather and spend time together. After sophomore year, members usually choose to live in an off campus house with sisters, but it is completely optional. Sisters are still extremely close like on any other campus, and everything else is the same including mixers with fraternities, socials, and formals. Greek life is big at Miami but it's not essential to having a good experience. If it's not for you I wouldn't force yourself into it because you think it's the only way to have a social life. That being said, it opens a lot of doors and is a great way to be involved on campus and meet lots of new people.
