i know so many girls that went through rush and avoided them because of this! there’s a lot of cute girls and they have good sisterhood but there philanthropy is really holding them back from rising. it’s a shame there’s really not much they can do about this tho it’s up to their nationals :(

nope. nope nope nope take the time to do literally one google search and educate urself on this issue. autism speaks is widely regarded as a hate group by the autistic community. it has done a lot of harm and still isn’t changing its ways. thanks!!!!

It sucks because the chapter itself has literally no say over it. Nationals picks the philanthropy. They said during philanthropy round that they’re even national partners with them or something. They have no control over it it’s definitely not a reason to not pick a sorority or not.

Their philanthropy is a national partnership. I bet if they had the option to change it they would but there’s literally nothing a single chapter can do about it so please don’t judge the members of fuzzie for supporting their philanthropy- they literally have to, just like any other sorority

ok this could just be me but i thought the issues with Autism Speaks were over in like the early 2000’s? pretty sure the organization spoke on the issues and they made some serious changes in how they ran the org. Just thought I’d say something because my family received help from them, and they were all very kind and accepting! Cancel culture sucks because it doesn’t allow anyone to grow from their mistakes, we’re all human. and its also not the chapters choice for a philanthropy lol

Yeah u def bring up a good point. I hope more change comes because everyone should want to support their philanthropy 100%. No hate to any of the members ofc I know they can’t do anything about it

autism speaks has no actually autistic leaders still to this day, and it’s funding priorities are still WACK. i encourage anyone to google & read up on it, esp what the autism community is saying
