DKE "recolonizing"?
by: what's thatI saw some advertising about DKE fraternity "recolonizing". What does this mean, does anyone know anyone about them?

It means that DKE nationals are restarting the chapter from scratch and recruiting completely new members. This also means that they probably suspended the old chapter's charter. Exactly the same as phi delt or beta recolonizing.
There still might be the old DKE around but from what I've heard they haven't recruited or used the house in the past two years. At best they're going to be an underground chapter that dies pretty fast out because they don't have the same social status or connections as Phi Tau or Phi Psi.

Yea the other commenter pretty much nailed it but to be clear to a rushee that might not get it, you're talking about two groups here.
First group is the new "recolonized" guys who will probably live in that house. That can go great or go poorly, depends on a lot of different things.
In the second paragraph, you're talking about guys who were DKE's continuing as an underground chapter, not the new group they're trying to get going. That's the group that hasn't recruited or lived there for two years / has low social standing w/e. I think there's only like 6 of them anyway, only met a couple.
From what Dralle told us when it came up at a meeting, nationals isn't involved, it's just their local Miami alumni group that has the charter.

DKE has been on Miami's campus longer than either Phi Tau or Phi Psi so I don't think they are going anywhere anytime soon.
