meeting peeps

I was thinking about rushing this upcoming semester. I am a little more on the shy side so I don't really know many guys in fraternities so i was wondering how do I meet them before rush actually starts? I just feel awkward walking up to a kid with his letters on and asking if I can hangout with him and his brothers. So any tips on how to give myself the best chance of getting a bid would be awesome because then hopefully I can have a good chance of getting a bid somewhere before rushing even starts.

Oh, if it makes a difference I was looking at maybe KA, DKE, Sig Pi and Phi Delt

I can tell you right now that you will not get a bid from sig pi or KA just because you asked this question.

Don't be shy dude, if you say you wanna rush and you like their fraternity they'll take you seriously

Yeah you wont get a bid from KA Sig Pi or Phi Delt, but DKE should be fun...
