They can't participate in any Miami events which they didn't do anyway. They can rush, but if/when IFC catches their underground pledges then they get fined $1000 per underground pledge, which you obviously will end up paying. So your dues will basically be about $2500 for your first semester in the fraternity if you make it through pledging

First of all, that is entirely false. Phi Tau is no longer associated with the school. Therefore, no school action can be levied upon them for any reason. Phi Tau is continuing with the rush phase as it always has. Very little has changed. This is the same for SAE as well. Don't pay attention to every rumor you hear about it. The matter has been decided for quite some time now.
