what is social probation?

This is false, recruitment rumors like this always spread around

Social probation is not very serious, my sorority was on it last year and we still had stuff all of the time. Almost every sorority/fraternity has been on it at one time or another. And this could also just be false information

I liked gphi! This kinda scares me to keep going back to them though because I wanna be able to go to stuff as a new member, I really hope it's not true

even if this is true it's not a big deal really, my sorority has been on social probation many times and you can still have limited date parties and underground socials. i wouldn't listen to this though because who really knows

either way, as someone said before, rumors spread around this time and if it's true, almost everyone has been on social probation- it doesn't matter. if you like the sorority its nbd and it shouldn't stop you from joining- if it does then you're in it for the wrong reasons. you can still party and do stuff on probation.

It should matter if a sorority is on probation or not. For Pete's sake reputations should matter. If a group can't participate in activities it will eventually limit total involvement on campus, it will alter reputation and can make that sorority NOT the one you want to be associated with!

So you want to party with them... fine, do that and save your money. If you want to invest your real time, energy, and money I suggest you do your homework and go with a reputable group that you can enjoy in your college years but will also be an asset to you post graduation.

And really what kind of PanHellenic counsel do we have if they wont publically address this issue?!!!??

THIS IS SO TRUE! they have been trying to hide it to get cute girls which sucks for their new members who join and dont get to do fun things! sucks they are trying to lie about it too
