As a former member of AOII, all I have to say is it sucks. THEY. CHARGE. YOU. FOR. EVERYTHING!! Everything from missing chapter, to a philanthropy event, to a workshop comes with a fine! The only reason attendance is high at events is because we are FORCED to be there. And it is SO cliquey. If you are not a select handful of girls or have a connection to someone on the leadership board, no one will pay attention to you. Do you know how hurtful it feels to be at Chapter with all your "sisters" and feel so alone & ignored? I do. And I'm not alone in that feeling. It all starts with leadership and their slating process is toxic and their leadership isn't strong. It's not even a sisterhood its about making nationals happy. This is just my 2 cents. I may have once been a "sister" but i can sure say I never felt accepted in AOII.

As a former member, you will get fined for every event/ chapter you miss. Girls are catty and clique-y and generally not nice to each other. While there are a very few nice girls, most of them do not know how to socialize outside of their friend groups and love to rip apart other sororities and fraternities. Thinks they’re too good to hang out with some fraternities and therefore do not have any socials, with only a few date parties a year.

There are a few sweet girls but honestly there are too many that are negative about Miami’s Greek life. If they worked on those jealous sisters maybe there would be some potential.

very nice girls actually, I kept dropping them and having to go back but surprisingly liked them better with every round, personally can't see myself being a part of this sorority but the girls all seem genuinely kind, not very popular but popularity isn't everything

They’ve been trying to fight and claw their way up from dead last but honestly it’s just pushing them farther down. Unmemorable, catty, genuinely mean girls. Hope they just go away honestly

As someone who was in this sorority and dropped- RUN AWAY. AOII is the snobbiest, most antisocial group of girls I've ever met on the Miami campus. I've been in it for over a year now and have not found a single good friend who doesn't also want to drop. Once you are in this sorority, they don't bother putting on any socials, none of the girls will reach out to you (they just sit there quietly during chapter, and will not smile). Also, they will charge you for anything. If you miss an event? Fined. If you don't have your nails painted during recruitment? Fined. They do not care about your personal well being. Also, they are super unorganized. Don't make the same mistake I made. Don't rush AOII.

from another former aoii that also dropped, i can confirm all of this. please don’t waste your time or money ladies. aoii is not home! aoii is a breeding ground for gossip and cliques and girls that like to make other girls feel bad about themselves. just ask any aoii about the secret recruitment video shoot last year...

it’s no secret that this sorority isn’t well known or well respected on miami’s campus, but reading the comments and knowing almost all of the girls in this chapter i’m genuinely surprised. yes there are some mean girls in the sorority but those are few and far between when it comes to the girls that are absolutely incredible! i think it just has a bad reputation and so people who are bitter about getting bids to AOII decided to drop it and trash it when in reality it’s their fault they didn’t like the sorority because they spent all their time being bitter and blaming the chapter for their disappointment. you will not find a nicer group of girls on campus than AOII
