While most come for the rankings, GreekRank.com also provides a space for discussion, letting you gain perspective into the sororities and fraternities on each university campus and see what everyone's talking about. Which schools are the biggest hot spots for debate? !MORE! We’ve ranked our most talkative schools based on pageviews and total discussion threads. Please remember that GreekRank.com urges contributors to keep posts positive and constructive.
#1 Miami University in Oxford, OH
MU comes in on top in regards to highest number of users viewing, voting and creating discussions. With over 31,000 discussions, Miami is our most active school. What are the Redhawks talking about? Words to the wise! The most upvoted thread is a reminder from a recent sorority pledge to take your bid with a grain of salt. MU has some of the hardest to get into “top-tiered” sororities and may be one of the most competitive schools to rush. If you didn’t get into your top tier pick, don’t take it personally we're told.
#2 Pennsylvania State University in University Park, PA
While GreekRank.com provides rankings based on user-submitted votes, PSU users are busy posting discussion threads with their own pledge class and overall rankings. Each fall, spring, end-of-year, and “going-into-break,” numerous users will submit what they consider to be the top fraternities and sororities at PSU. The conclusion? There is none -- no one has seemed to agree yet.
#3 Indiana University in Bloomington, IN
Find out the latest in campus happenings and Greek life news on IU's discussion threads. Students are most vocal and curious about who’s throwing down on Friday, charter revocations, pledge class appeals and who’s moving in where. With 41 fraternities and 27 sororities at the school, we can't deny there’s more going on in Bloomington than we thought.
#4 University of Maryland at College Park, MD
The University of Maryland’s discussion page might be more like a Q&A, with incoming classmen wondering what to expect during rush and Greek week and how fraternities are tiered. While UMD also has plenty of user-submitted rankings like PSU, students can always count on responses when they ask a question -- and on receiving plenty of down and up votes.
#5 Ohio State University in Columbus, OH
With Ohio State having cracked down on Greek life this past fall, and then resuming activities this spring, there’s a lot of debate on what’s next and how each fraternity has fared. We also noticed that on OSU’s discussion board, the general, user-submitted rankings take on a more in-depth approach. "Top Fall Frats" or "Spring Srat Rankings" is swapped for more in-depth “guides” to rush week, reputations and recommendations.
