LOL, that comment is why so many people hate y'all. Not that these three houses aren't considered top tier... BUT it's things like this that give you you're reputations

Okay y'all, don't hate me for this, but here's the ranking I generally get from people. I am a Kappa Delta. The first list is the list people on campus gave me, (I asked about 250ish people of all ages who go to CofC) and the second is my own personal ranking and explanations.

First List (What the People have to say):
Delta Gamma
Alpha Delta Pi
Kappa Delta
Delta Delta Delta
Chi Omega
Kappa Alpha Theta
Sigma Delta Tau
Phi Mu

Second List (The biased one..):
1) Kappa Delta
"I am a KD lady, so I am of course naturally biased. I just feel like out of all of the sororities on campus ours has the most diverse group of young ladies and yet somehow we all manage to get along. I'm not gonna lie, yes, we do have a tendency to lean towards beautiful, pretty girls when recruitment comes around but let me tell you why. Kappa Delta looks for girls who are confident, inspiring, and have the potential to hold leadership positions. We want girls who respect themselves and the girls around them. So, naturally when recruitment comes around, we look for the girls who you can tell took the time to make sure that they were put together. I'm not saying they have to be thin and ridiculously attractive, they just have to look like they at least care about how they come off to people. I have a lot of people come up to me and tell me about how kind and polite our sorority is, and it fills me with such pride.

You asked 250 people what their rankings of the top sororities were? Sounds like you need something better to occupy your time or you're full of it...

2) DG
"Ridiculously nice girls. Polite, kind, and dedicated to school"
3) AD Pi
"Pretty girls. I know some girls in there and they don't seem to be the closest group on campus but still sweet"
4) Phi Mu
"They're the girls who no one expects to be in a sorority. A lot of girls, and frats, make fun of them, but in my opinion it is the sweetest group of girls I have ever met. They have tons of pride in their sorority and are probably the closest group on campus. They take sisterhood seriously, and because they tend to be made up of 'underdogs' they all relate to each other very well."
5) Theta
"VERY intelligent young, beautiful women. Tend to be one of the quieter ones on campus."
6) Tri Delt
"Can be stuck up. Party and Drink a lot, but nice girls none the less"
(See last comment for rest)

I hate to see SDT ranked so low. I know a lot of girls from that sorority, and they are always so very friendly and down to earth. They may have a poor reputation because they are such a small chapter, there are only a few to judge them by. Personally I know that there are some beautiful women in this sorority, despite common belief.

every time one of these lists ranks their sorority in top 3, you can tell which one they're in, and therefore what the foremost concern is of this particular member. sororities aren't about being top tier, they're about building friendships and having a great college experience, NOT BEING BETTER THAN EACH OTHER. stop making your sororities look bad by insulting other ones and placing yourself above others. it genuinely hurts people to read this stuff. and that says a lot as well. everyone is proud of their sorority, but most of us are friendly to eachother no matter the letters. don't make us all look so bad.

Keep an open mind and think of what ou want to get out of it. Don't discredit any of the sororities right out of the gate. Some "lower" or "middle" tier sororities recognize their ranking and are trying to improve. Delta Gamma has done a great job of establishing and sigma delta tau I hear is attempting to revamp their chapter (which they need). Some sororities are lookin for numbers other for leaders others for girls just to sit back and enjoy the ride. Look at what you want and give everyone a chance

As a graduated SDT I'm really glad someone posted this!
We are really trying to better our rankings in the community and will hopefully become a better and stronger chapter in the next coming year or so!
Give these girls a chance and see if you could see them as your sisters :)

For the new girls coming in the top four (in no order) that you need to rush is...

Chi O, Zeta, ADPi, and Tri Delt

the other ones are good too...the other ones just party all the time

The top 4 party the most

So if you're a legacy, is that a basic guarantee to get a bid from one of those? Also, is it harder for a northerner to get a bid from them?
