hey! so i am from the north where c of c is less heard of than some of the other southern schools. as a result, there are not many alums up here, and therefore finding those that were in a sorority at c of c is next to impossible. most of the sororities look great, but i'm concerned i wont get my top pick if i don't have a letter of rec. how much do the sororities want a letter of rec?

Hardly at all! Don't worry, if they like you enough, you're in! A letter won't convince them otherwise, or vise versa.

You don't have to get a recommendation from a C of C alum...you need an alum of that sorority from any school.
