guys rush
by: Chris Bosh's OverbiteIm a transfer and i was wondering how is rush for the guys? At the school I'm coming from the guys were just sitting in their house and kinda ignored the rushees. But at Smokers do the brothers actually care to get to know the kids who are rushing, or do they just kinda stand there talking to other brothers?

Fraternities like KS SN ATO KA fill their pledge classes during the summer and get a few other kids during rush in the fall. To get into one of these fraternities (or others like pike sae beta) you need to contact the rush chairs early in the summer to establish a connection and stand out.

Ok. They don't technically "fill up" their pledge classes and make it impossible for anyone else to get a bid. But since they're the "better" fraternities it is important to contact them early so you look like you're making an effort and so they get to know you before smokers. Rush is only a week long so it's pretty hard to get to know kids in that time.

To get in contact with the fraternities Google their chapter and the website/fb pages will come up. For example Google:
"Clemson Kappa Alpha Order" or "Clemson Kappa Sigma". Or if you can't find a particular chapter Google "Clemson IFC" and there is a contact us link and they will help you get in touch with whomever you want.

depends on the house a lot. most do but some already know who they'll be taking so they barely bother to meet new kids.
