I'll be attending Clemson in the fall. I'm northern, Boston specifically, are there good frats that let in northern guys, or are the higher tier frats mostly southern?

Lambda or Phi Delt are probably your better bets, Sigma Pi is sort of relevant but not good, same with Delta Chi, Phi Tau is lower than all those. Those are the main ones with mostly northern guys

ex beta phidelt in that order are your best bet. fraternities like ks, pka take northern guys but infrequently. ka, en, ato basically do not take northerners
