You'll be fine on the whole! Some aspects of southern culture definitely take some getting used to but Clemson on the whole has been nothing but awesome for me. As for getting a bid it depends on if you're a guy or a girl, but for girls every group has northerners. Some have more than others but there's no exclusively-southern group. I'm not a dude so I won't speak for fraternities.

Some sororities are more open to northerners than others. A lot of zetas are northern

Kkg, AXO, aphi, xo, ek, and theta all take many northern girls
Several fraternities are either very diverse (alpha sig, sig ep, lambda, beta, pike, tke, pi kap) and many majority northern (phi sig, phi tau, phi delt, delta chi, dtd, sig pi)

If you're northern and looking to be in a good sorority then take a look at ZTA KKG and XO

ADPi and DDD generally are much more southern, but it shouldn't be a problem for the others

Adpi, ddd, kd, kkg tend to be sorta southern but all have a few northerns. zta seems to be the most northern.

The top fraternities - KA, ATO SN - will not take anyone not from the South, Sig Ep is your best bet. They're upper middle and pretty diverse. Guys from everywhere. The other middle tier ones: Pike is mostly New Jersey, Phi Delt is mostly New England guys and Lambda is like Sig Ep and has guys from everywhere. Delta Chi, Sigma Pi, Phi Tau are the larger lower tier fraternities and are almost entirely norhtern.

I'm gonna be honest, it will be harder for you to get in the more southern sororities like DDD or ADPi.
