Rushing as a sophomore

by:

Is it any easier to rush as a sophomore? I rushed freshman year, and got dropped by 90% of the sororities before I even met them. I was thinking of rushing this year but don’t know if it will be any better?

That just means your video probably wasn’t great and didn’t really show who you are. Make sure you put a lot of work into it this year and you’ll be fine. No one will even know you rushed as a freshman unless you tell them. I rushed as a sophomore and it was good.

Yes it can be easier because you should already know girls in sororities and if you are on good terms with them this is an advantage. Guys have friends in sororities too and can put in a good word for you before recruitment.

Rushing as a sophomore can be easier. I’ve known a few people who were great girls (cute, sweet, good grades, etc) and seemed to have it all on paper but fell through the cracks when they went through freshman year. The ones who went through as sophomores got bids and were happy with them, because they had friends already in the houses who knew they would be great sisters and pulled for them.

Recruitment can be really brutal for girls who don’t already have inside connections and are introverts and/or wonderful friends and confidantes but not super outgoing conversationalists. I would encourage anyone who had a bad experience but has since made friends in the houses and is more familiar with how to play the game to go through again.
