any thoughts on DG

If you like them and the alumnae connection is important to you I would not rule them out just because they’re new. I am in the same sorority as my mom and it’s really special to share that with her.

I might get downvoted but this is the honest truth, dg here is really looked down upon as being the really weird bottom sorority. Not saying that’s right but it definitely impacts your rep so it’s up to you whether you care or not

It depends on how much you value chapter reputation vs national reputation. They are considered lower tier at Clemson but nationally they are better known and have a bigger alum network than some of our top or mid chapters.

they're better than gphi and slowly rising. expect them to pass pi phi and sk over the next few years

All the DGs I know are super nice (and normal)! They have an iffy rep for being small and weird but that’s probably because they’re new. Every chapter has at least a few weird girls, they’re just hard to hide in a small chapter. I say give it a chance!

Dg is working its way up! All newer chapters have to start somewhere but they’re recruiting more great girls each year

They actually do have some really normal (and pretty) girls but like the other comments said the weird ones are harder to hide because of size. Every sorority has weird girls though. The fact that they are new and are doing relatively the same or better than other sororities at their tier like sk or gphi does help so a lot of people do see them being on the rise, but obviously that’s up for debate lol. Sharing a sorority with your mom is really special so do take it into account, but don’t let it impact your entire decision.

DG has great girls who are active in many organizations on campus. It’s the newest on campus, hence the smallest. But they’re focused on recruiting & a couple more solid pledge classes & they’ll move up the ranks.

They are a very strong house nationally in both the north and the south (some or the top houses are only known in the south.) So for after-college networking — it’s a good sorority to be in!

Bottom line: do your best to meet the girls and keep an open mind and don’t about rankings….find where YOU feel comfortable & wanted!
