it’s usually gphi, sk, dg, and sometimes pi phi, dz, axo, and aphi depending on quota

Last year Zeta had to do cob / informal rush because they cut too many girls and lost their numbers when the PNMs submitted their preference
So you never know who might need to do cob/ informal.

No, “Facts”, ZTA actually did not COB last year at all. They let in a few COB’s 2 years ago because they had several sisters graduate in December and really wanted those girls they COB’d, but they absolutely did not COB this past year.

Don’t let the rank’s influence you. You usually can’t tell which house someone is in unless they are wearing letters. Some people prefer hanging out with mid frats.

Hi. If they are going to do COB, how does it work and when will you know? Do they post it somewhere? Will it be in fall or spring? Had such good rushes at a few houses but dropped by all of the ones I like for pref…

Why would you want to be in a house that didn’t want you?

Most girls aren’t cut because the chapter didn’t like them, but rather there isn’t enough room for all the PNM’s they do like.

Right but the houses RANKED the girls, that means if you were cut they ranked you lower than others. Again, ladies, don't go to houses that didn't rank you high enough to get in through formal recruitment. You want women who wanted you and who want to get to know you and form a true sisterhood. Don't get hung up on these rankings....I can tell you from other top southern universities, they rankings can be different in just a few short years depending on the pledge classes that come in.

Make sure the Panhellenic office knows that you are interested in COB. Chapters can COB if they did not pledge quota or if they are below quota, so there may be some chapters able to COB are formal recruitment. Let your friends and girls in your rush group know you would be interested in COB opportunities if their sororities are able to COB.

What kind of girl wants to be in a sorority that cut her? Have some self respect. Join a lower “ranked” house that wanted you — larger pledge classes will have greater influence.
Shallow houses cut in the lame lazy virtual round based 100% on image. If you were cut during that round & are now wanting a COB from a house that cut you without even meeting you? Very sad!

Panhellenic should cut the virtual round. This practice shows the true nature of some houses.

Is there an underlying prejudice or feelings of superiority against northern girls? Just curious because after reading this website for a while—picking up a vibe. I so hope I am off base!! That would absolutely not be the case in reverse on the west coast or at northern schools towards southerners.

I don't think there's a bias against northerners, although some houses are more traditional southern for sure. I think there ARE girls from larger high schools that recruit people they know....but that can cut both ways. You can have someone from a larger South Carolina high school who doesn't like you. I think that any girl who came in and didn't realize that the "top houses" already were filling their dance cards by reaching out to rushees and stalking Instagram were at a disadvantage. But that's on Panhel to put those rules in place.

Is it true that sororities are not allowed to cut Clemson LIFE girls who go through recruitment?

By: Clemson life
by: Real Truth

Clemson LIFE women have no impact on whether a non-Clemson LIFE woman gets invited back to a chapter. In other words, those Clemson LIFE women are not the reason you did not get ADPi, DDD, or XO. It's a separate process. If you didn't get a bid, it's because those chapters wanted other NON-Clemson LIFE women more than you.

If 400 girls are dropping, Panhellenic needs to take a serious look at the rush process. This falls on their shoulders and is disappointing.

If 400 women are dropping, then THOSE 400 WOMEN need to reevaluate their own process for deciding they are somehow better than the sororities who continued to invite them back. Basically these women needed to go in with an OPEN MIND and give ALL the sororities a chance instead of thinking they were going to get into groups which are not like them at all. These 400 women are NOT better than the women they disregarded by dropping out of recruitment. The process goes both ways.

Girls came in only wanting the “popular” sororities and didn’t give a chance to the others which is on them and not Clemson Panhellenic. What all the girls have to keep in mind is that it doesn’t matter the popularity of a sorority as long as you get along with the girls. All the sororities do the same thing. Also the video round does suck but, a lot of girls are rushing so it’s understandable why they do it.

Also I feel that cob for the girls that drop is going to be harder than they think cause they are going in cob wanting only the “popular” ones and those are usually invitation only.

With so many PNMs dropping because they’re heartbroken about heavy cuts that cost them the opportunity to join a house they loved, maybe Panhel needs to consider giving everyone the same level of say in where they end up as Clemson LIFE women are given. If not, the special privileges and “separate process” for a select few PNMs to ensure a satisfactory result need to stop.

^^^ Spoken by someone who has NO IDEA how the process works.

THREE women from Clemson LIFE participated in Recruitment. 3. Three.

Not all the sororities at Clemson participate in Clemson LIFE recruitment. I believe only 10 do. It likely has to do with their Nationals whether they participate or not because some groups have rules about members being considered full-time students and Clemson LIFE being a separate program.

Those three women have no effect on whether 400 women decide FOR THEMSELVES to drop out of rush. You need to stop grasping at straws, get off your high horse that you are somehow only deserving of a "top" house who didn't want you, and give other sororities at Clemson a chance, or you will remain an unaffiliated woman at Clemson. Simple as that.

You are really a hateful person to want to deny a few women with disabilities, who normally would not get the opportunity to join a sorority, that opportunity just so you can join a "top house."

Why do people keep bringing up Clemson LIFE? This is a program for young adults with intellectual and physical disabilities to participate in the joys of belonging in sorority life. They are by no means fully fledged members unfortunately because many sororities require active members to be degree seeking full time students. In my opinion, the solution is that the virtual round is done away with and that PNMS and actives alike get the experience to meet every girl in person, whether that is during a first round party or even an involvement fair/tabling event. Look ar Auburn Panhellenic, which is the same as Clemson as far as having no houses. They did NOT do virtual rounds and returned to traditional rush of doing water ice tea parties for the first round. I graduated in 2023 so when I was a freshman, I got to experience meeting every single house. I wasn’t popular and graduated in a class of 15 people who didn’t go through rush at all. Even though I wasn’t popular, dirty rushed, or even knew a person in the sororities, I still got the FULL Panhellenic experience of meeting every house! How are actives or PNMS supposed to decide on anything but shallow Instagram videos and greekrank when they don’t have the chance to meet in person? I feel bad for everyone who started college 2020 onward— you have been cheated of the full Panhellenic experience. I feel sorry for the popular girls too who don’t get to experience the sisterhood bond of the “bottom” houses just because they cut them after video rounds. End of rant lol

Hi all,
I completely agree that girls who drop bc they didn't get in one of the houses they wanted bear responsibility. You either want to be in a house, or you don't. There are friends waiting in every house. I do think that every girl should get their 15 minute water/lemonade party where they get to hear the chant and feel the energy. It is the job of a Rho Chi/Gamma Chi/Pi Chi to counsel these girls throughout. I also think it is very concerning that smart, cute, friendly girls can be cut to as little as three houses after virtual round. I do not know much about Clemson rush (a close family member went through...has a lot of early cuts...and hung in and is THRILLED with her house...even though it isn't a "top/mid" house) but it seems really crazy to cut that deep. And I don't care if they didn't know anything about rush, recs, early recruiting, etc. My daughter went through major SEC rush at a competitive school and even those that had major cuts first round STILL were invited back to half the houses after first round. Huge props to the girls that hung on though the heartbreak of early cuts and didn't think they were above pledging a house that others wouldn't consider. Nobody hates their sorority once they join. All the houses need to succeed for the sake of the system. I hope any girl who dropped and is waiting on a COB will really give all houses a chance. You'd be very surprised how much things can change from year to year. You can make a difference. This makes me really think about future hiring in Corporate America. I may start looking at those listing their sororities and give my preference to those that joined houses and made them better.

I got a house I loved and feel very excited about but I do agree every PNM should get the opportunity to visit the chapters in person before any cuts are made! Just a simple conversation can make a huge difference for some people. As a PNM I also felt like I got a much better feel for the chapters in person than I did from any videos or even social media. The one that ended up being my favorite in person was not one that I initially thought I would see myself in.
