please help!

by:

Hi! I'll be (hopefully) transferring to Clemson next fall. I would really love to rush, but I will be a sophomore, a transfer, and from out of state (Louisiana.) I don't know anybody at Clemson. I am a legacy to one house, but I am not sure if that will help. I have a very high college GPA and have leadership & volunteer experience in college. I know that there are no guarantees, but do I have a good chance of receiving a bid? Are there any houses that will for sure not take an out of state sophomore with no connections? Are there any houses that tend to be more accepting for girls in my circumstances? I'd really like to hear any thoughts/opinions/advice that y'all have for me. If I have a very poor/no chance, please tell me. Thank you!!

If you have good grades and are cute with style, you'll have just as good of a chance for a bid as anyone else. Rushing as a sophomore isn't hard. The absolutely no no is rushing as a junior.

I am not trying to be harsh, but this is accurate. Out of state, sophomore with NO connections? Sorry my friends but I can't think of one house that would take someone in your positions

Undoubtedly, it helps to know people; there might be some SC-centric sororities that will cut you off the bat if you don't know anyone. BUT, if you wow the girls you talk to first round, present yourself well, and carry yourself confidently first round, you'll land on someone's radar. I wouldn't say no connections=no bid, but just don't suck and you'll be fine.

don't listen to people who say you need connections to get a bid. I came from out of state and knew no one, got my first choice sorority and love it now!

I'm sure you'll be fine getting a bid to most sororities, especially if you're a legacy.

letter of rec from 2-3 alumns (plus whoever youre a legacy from) will help with the lack of connections
