ADPI appearance vote
by: egrI am an incoming potential new member and I thought I wanted to go adpi because my aunt and mom were but I heard the chapter specific to clemson all decides the PNM by sitting in a room and putting your face on the screen and voting... does that mean my conversations with them/legacy status doesn’t matter?? I also have a friend at Clemson that just dropped because she said it was a nice popularity boost but the girls didn’t talk to her. However some girls swear they love it so I don’t know what to think.

I’m not in adpi but not going to lie all/most sororities put your face up on a screen and vote, it’s the only way the sisters you talk to remember you. It isn’t just for appearances, but last year each sorority saw 1200 girls between the first two days. Don’t take things personally and don’t rush for status and you’re fine.

It’s used in remembering the person for voting. Voting would be more on conversation, not looks. Go through recruitment being yourself, TALK, and make your own judgments when you talk to girls in each house. They are not just interviewing you, you need to be interviewing them. They will be just as nervous as you, Just don’t let it show.
Don’t talk about which sorority you want. Give each house a fair chance. And, its not about getting a top tier house. it’s about finding the fit for YOU to make lifelong friends with. It’s about learning to serve others including working with charities. It’s not about being popular. And, no matter which house you end up in, just like in every part of life - there will be both good and bad people in it. These houses have several hundred girls as members in each one. When someone joins a sorority and says they couldn’t make a connection with anyone in that house, out of several hundred girls - then that girl is the problem, NOT the sorority.
