sorority sisters debutante ball

Was invited to sorority sisters debutante ball. What type of gift would typically be given. I am not from the south so not sure what is customary.

I am just asking hear because I feel like it a weird question to ask my friends and it will make me look dumb. And when I google it seems like you don't give a gift and I don't want to be embarrassed if by not giving something. My mom thinks I should give $150 cash in card but that feels weird too.
