food for thought

by:

people who rely on ranks here are shallow and insecure.

they are people who need outsiders to validate they are "cool" by what group they join.

they need outsiders to validate they made the right choice in recruitment instead of being able to trust their own judgment they found a good group for them.

many were not cool in h.s. and do not have confidence in themselves and think that joining the right group in college will suddenly make them cool overnight. not true. you just look like a fraud and a try hard.

they need to feel better about themselves by ranking and viewing others as beneath them instead of respecting that all people are different.

if you are "cool" and confident in yourself, it doesn't matter what group you are in. people will see this no matter where you are.

just because someone recruited well in the past does not mean they are guaranteed to do so this year. members in groups change over time.

if you are such a "cool" person, won't your being a member of a group, regardless of rank, make it better in the process. either don't overestimate your self-worth or do your job in making your group better.

relying on ranks is the lazy way of trying to promote your group.
