low-mid sorority
by: PNMI've got legacy at one that is lower-mid so I just was wondering if it is a good thing or a bad thing. I don't want to pick one and then be a freak on campus. What does it mean to be a lower-mid sorirty. What makes a sorority get that ranking? Is it looked down upon to be in a lower-mid?

1. You should not rely on this site for accurate information. You don't know if the same five people from one sorority trying to promote itself is coming on here ranking itself high while marking others low. In other words, even ranks you see over and over are not reliable.
2. No one in real life is looking down on folks just because of what sorority they are a member of. In fact, people are often friends with members of a variety of sororities and not just their own or of a certain tier. For example, people become friends with others in their rush group or with their roommates and stay friends even after they end up getting bids to different sororities.
3. The tiers on here are often based on superficial things like looks and don't take into regard like philanthropy, involvement, and sisterhood. Things like sisterhood are harder to rank because it depends on each person. Who you get along best with may differ than someone else.
4. Lastly the most important thing is that all the women who go through recruitment and who are in sororities are different, just like in real life. So not everyone is going to like or feel comfortable in a "top tier" group -- so don't pretend to be like these people just to get a bid because you can't keep up the act forever and will end up unhappy. Just be yourself and try to find people who seem to like you for who you really are.

don’t let this be a concern during rush. clemson is not one of the schools where the lower sororities are judged or not let in parties. you will still have a great time in a lower tier, those sororities tend to have better sisterhoods and the upper tiers are just about looks. no one really cares which sorority you are in and if it’s upper or not once rush week is over. just keep an open mind and go where you feel the most comfortable, getting a bid in the first place is a good thing, so many girls don’t make it to bid day.

Can you not read what someone above said about tiers? Your question has been answered. If you can't figure it out, then you can't possibly have gotten into Clemson. Quit stirring trouble. You look like a troll.

You got rude responses because you look like a troll. Your question was already answered. You were told that the ranks here are not real (anyone can repeatedly come on here anonymously and make stuff up) and do not matter in real life. You pretend to ask again by insinuating that groups in the "lower mid tier" are not as good for several false reasons and falsely suggest that because b.s. is repeated, it must "mean something."
It doesn't mean anything except that it looks like you are trying to stir up trouble.
For all we know, you could even be an anti-Greek troll who wants to perpetuate stereotypes and see Greek life go down by having us tear each other apart. (That's my bet.)
THE ONLY PEOPLE FOR WHICH RANKS MATTER ARE THE IMMATURE, INSECURE PEOPLE WHO NEED EXTERNAL VALIDATION FOR THIEIR LIFE CHOICES AND OBTAIN SELF-WORTH BY PUTTING DOWN OTHERS.
If you are a PNM, get off this site because 99.9% of the stuff you read here will only impair your ability to have a good recruitment.

Well, @olga, you can go through recruitment and meet members of every single house in person. IKR, what an amazing idea. And then you can wait and see which one of them might "pick" you by the end of the week, because the sororities do the choosing, not you.

4. Choose stylish yet comfortable outfits so you can feel confident.
5. Keep an open mind and don't buy into gossip.
Notice how "look at GR" is NOT on the list of things to do to prepare.

Olga, it seems you truly are misguided and not focused on what sorority recruitment is supposed to be about, which is to find a supportive sisterhood. You keep focusing on superficial and unimportant things to ask about.
Professional headshots are NOT important. Your picture is only used during each chapter's membership selection meeting so they can put a name to a face and remember who you are. You can achieve the same thing by choosing a clear but nice casual photo you may already have. Just follow any guidelines Panhellenic may have for this.

so I am so confused by the tiers. I keep seeing the same rating more or less in all of the posts about tiers so what exactly does it mean to be lower mid tier - the sororities are less involved, a lot of girls drop, the girl have good personalities aka but not good looks? I am just so confused what it mean, but it mean something because the ranks are pretty consistent.
