lower tiers

by:

Got into Clemson and plan on rushing...what happens if I get a bid only from a lower tier sorority? Am I going to hate walking around campus because everyone looks down on my sorority or is it really not a big deal and a way to make friends and have fun?

It sounds like you actually believe the tiers / ranks you see on here. This site is a forum where people express anonymous opinions, usually to self promote or insult due to insecurity. This site is NOT real life and is not a reflection of reality. People don’t walk around campus or at events calling themselves better than others, whether in Greek life or not.

I got in a lower mid tier. I was kind of bummed at first. The girls were fine. I was kind of embarrassed to tell my friends at home but at the same time excited to actually get picked because so many girls don't make it to bid day. Of course I wish it was a higher tier, but at the same time I probably would fit in as an top tier.

you'll go where you belong. If you get disappointed with a low-tier bid, you should probably reevaluate your standards

no, you will not. no one here judges you for being in a lower tier sorority or thinks less of you. you will still make tons of friends and have a great experience. the lower tiers tend to select more for personality then looks, that’s all

I would agree with that, but it seems like the higher tiers have more interesting philanthropy causes and the girls seem like they are having a little more fun at events.

To “more truth”: I think the key to what you’re saying is “seems” to have more fun with their philanthropy. A lot of what people think of as “top tier” is all about the surface image. They probably spend more time taking pictures and creating recruitment videos at their philanthropy events than actually raising money. My suggestion is during philanthropy round during recruitment, actually ask sisters how they raise money, where that money goes to, and what they do to contribute to their philanthropy other than just writing a check. I think you’ll find that chapters that aren’t “top tier” truly love their philanthropy and have blast contributing to a cause about which they feel so passionate. Maybe you can’t see this on the outside because their focus isn’t on how they look on social media.
