sorority transfer

by:

I will be transferring as a junior next fall and was wondering how difficult it would be to get a bid. I am out of state also which at some schools could hurt you. I don't really care about top houses either, just trying to fine genuine people.

Clemson does it the week before school starts and it sucks because it makes you feel really bad about yourself. If I had it to do over, I would have waited but I can see why you want to do it as a Junior.

you "feel bad about yourself" because you had too high of an opinion of yourself, thinking yourself above certain houses and not deemed as fitting in a "top" house by those members. So basically you disregarded some perfectly good chapters trying to get into a house who did not want you. If you kept an open mind and did not look down on others, you'd feel better about yourself because you'd be in a group who wanted you to be a member.

You have no idea if this girl looked down on any chapters or what sorority she is in now, so it sounds like you’re the one looking down on people. Even if you don’t have your heart set on top tier like a lot of people do going through recruitment and getting dropped from chapters even though it’s a numbers game half the time takes a toll on 18 year old girls who just got to college and may not know anybody yet. Please please get off your high horse

Please learn how to use punctuation. Your diatribe was a run-on mess.

in response to the OP, if you keep and open mind and don't focus on tiers, you may be able to find a house you feel comfortable in and receive a bid. There is an upperclassman total, and several groups do take upperclassman as members. Having recommendations may help.

I'm only saying is really hard because you think you dressed right and you think you did really well and you get dropped. It is terrible for self confidence. And I'm sorry but it sucks to start at a school and feel rejected and judged.

Why would you transfer here from out of state?. Do you have friends here that are in sororitys, that is your best bet.

Just be yourself and it will all work out as it should. That's all you need to remember. If you aren't yourself, you won't be happy where you end up getting a bid. Anything else you read on here won't help you. GR is mostly used for bashing, selfranking, and fake posts which generally comes from someone with sort of vendetta, grudge or insecurity. Don't use that for genuine advice and end up being disappointed. The REAL majority of Greek Life at Clemson is great and nothing like what you see said on here. Be yourself and you will find your fit. Just don't assume GR is a reflection of reality.

There are four things you need to know:

1. Be yourself.
2. Be open-minded.
3. Trust the process.
4. Give yourself time after you receive your bid.

People who do these four things end up being happy with recruitment. People who don't aren't.

you should know that some houses do drop girls after first round if they are above a junior standing. dont take it personally if it happens, they might have really liked you, but some have rules where they are forced to drop all juniors after first round.
