That's something that's up to Panhellenic. I personally think there's and issue because we don't have 1) enough sororities or 2) their pledge classes aren't big enough. They had about 1100 girls go through recruitment in the fall and only 800 gots bids because the sororities are limited to how many people they can take. So they either need to add another sorority or let the pledge classes be bigger

But isn't quota determined by the number of girls at final partys? Like that means the number is determined by who drops out. If they don't want to belong, then they aren't counted toward quota. Some might have wanted to be PBP and dropped to try there. If we add a group then won't more women drop out to try the new group?

yeah that's. it true... the chaptershave a quota to fill but there is not a cap panhellenic wants pledge class to decrease that's why they brought pi phi back and in three or four more years they will probably bring a new sorority on

if we're talking about bringing another old chapter back, my vote is Delta Gamma. one of the best national reputations there is.

Problem Is all 1100 girls want to be in the same top 5 or 6 sororities and if they don't get one they drop. It doesn't matter how many they add. It is just not a one for one thing where you can just divide number of girls by number if sororities to solve the problem. Also who said that everyone should get a bid?

Maybe some girls will drop if they don't get a bid to the top tier and those are probably the ones who shouldn't get bids if they have that attitude but I know plenty of girls who went through rush last year with good grades and recs who are really sweet girls who got dropped from every chapter most likely because they were passed up for someone a sister knew from high school or just weren't memorable enough in round one even if they would have fit in great with many sororities. Not saying everyone should get a bid because I have no problem with little miss top tier or nothing getting dropped but with a little more than half of the girls going through rush even able to get bids because of quotas how can you say every girl that didn't get a bid wasn't good enough?

That is such a shallow way to think. Many girls are very happy where they end up, and this attitude that girls in "middle" and even "bottom" tier sororities are just rejects from the "top" needs to change. When I went through rush, I ranked one of the "top" sororities here almost dead last because I was uncomfortable talking to them and knew I didn't belong there. Every sorority has its own type of girls. even pi ph which is brand new even seems to be heading in a particular direction. I'm not saying we necessarily need a new sorority, but "not everyone should get a bid" being the reason we don't is lame af, you want to deny women a chance of finding a sisterhood just bc you have some exclusivity complex you couldn't leave behind in high school.

What do you mean by "even Pi Phi"?? Has its own particular type of girl? Do you mean that in a good or bad way? Anyone who dropped or didn't get a bid this fall had a chance to be part of Pi Phi. If you meant it in a bad way that proves Tigers1 comment.

I meant exactly what I said: each sorority has its own personality and you can say the same thing about pi phi even though they are not as established yet as the other chapters. I also wouldnt say "everyone" got a chance since many were dropped and nationals seemed to go a certain way with the girls they recruited for the colonizing chapter.
