I didn't really like the whole idea of the recruitment process here but rushing pi Phi seems like a good idea! Not only would it be cool to be a founder but they also are nationally ranked one

You wouldn't be a founder...founders were the women who originally started the sorority, many years ago.

They would be founders of the SC Beta chapter (the pi Phi chapter at clemson)

Definitely would be a different experience from regular rush but I'm sure it would be equally rewarding starting a chapter

My mom was a Pi Phi when she was here back in the 80s... You're recolonizing the SC Beta chapter of Pi Beta Phi... So you're not founders. It's still a cool experience but you're not an OG.

for the first few years it sucks. I'm an alum of a newish chapter and my experience is that while it is great for personal growth it sucks for a lot of other reasons. Other sororities will make fun of you and not participate in your events and very few fraternity's will want to mix with you. It's an uphill battle because the community looks for reasons to knock you down and will not acknowledge your achievements or improvements. The new sorority is always looked at as the "reject" sorority. But I can say when my sorority started here it was mostly women who never thought of going Greek before and then a small % that dropped out of recruitment. Just to put that in perspective.

You posted the same message on a USC discussion. Stop trying to discourage girls from going out of their comfort zone and gaining a new experience. While colonizing is different and does have its challenges, I think that at clemson it will be very rewarding. Everyone at Clemson is excited for Pi Phi!! and everyone at USC is excited for Alpha Xi
