rush

by:

Don't waste your time rushing at this school. It is very obvious after one day to see that all these girls care about are your looks and if you "would fit in" aka if you're cool enough. Unless you're a super model or famous for whatever reason, don't waste your time because you'll be dropped immediately from every house. If you're not from the south, you don't have perfect skin and hair, or you don't stand out as the popular girl in a crowd then you have no chance. Sad to say that average girls just don't make the cut at the this shallow school. Even better, when you're dropped you'll hate yourself for staying under rush house arrest for the 21 days that you wait to finally figure out that you haven't made the cut! That's right, no drinking, no parties, no boys for the first three weeks of college just so that you can find out it was all a waste...good luck and go Greek!!!

Your half right did you see some of the girls in those sororities? Can't honestly say they base it all off looks but having daddies money and being in state probably helps

Despite looks, the in state advantage really sucks as well. The girls I knew from around here all got in the sorority they wanted immediately while all the out of states had to work a lot harder throughout rush.

No one gets dropped just because of where they're from... the only "in state advantage" is that someone from your home town probably already knows you and can rep for you. This could also hurt you so...

Can anyone tell me if this is really true? I'm from the North and wanted to rush next year and now I'm wondering if I should even bother after reading this :(

I've found some of the best friends that are caring, genuine, kind, involved, smart, enthusiastic about philanthropy, and just real through rushing & accepting a bid from what some may deem a "top tier" (tier system is bs) but regardless I don't agree with what you're saying. Me & my friends don't all dress alike, some of them come from money & I along with others don't, but all of us form a great supportive group of girls who do a lot more than get drunk. I'm sorry Greek life didn't work for you but to say everyone in it is shallow is a large over-exaggeration & most definitely untrue.
