junior thinking of sorority rush

by: Junior

I rushed freshman year and got to 4th round with Chi Omega, but didn't get a final bid. I didn't want to "suicide my choices" cause that lowers your chances, but it backfired and I got a bid from Theta, my only other option. I gave them a try, but ultimately dropped after two months.
Formal rush was an anxious process for me and didn't do it this past fall as a sophomore, but then spring rush was canceled.

So now I'm a junior considering this next fall. I have a 3.7 GPA and now multiple girls in each sorority. I'd be perfectly happy not being in a top one, but I'd like input on if I'd have a chance with any other sororities like AXO, DZ, or SK.

Please don't be rude :)

were you initiated into theta? bc if you were, you wont be able to rejoin another house, the whole member for life thing

I did not. I backed out before initiation, but still had to wait a year and couldn't participate in spring rush. So looking back, I regret not suiciding even though it would've lowered my chances more.

Suiciding would not have altered your chances in any way as far as receiving a bid to your top choice house. Your top choice house reached quota before coming to your name on their bid list. Your second choice house reached your name on their bid list before they reached quota and that is why you received a bid from them. By listing both houses you preffed, you just maximized your chances to receive a bid. If you had suicided, you just would have gotten the dreaded phone call from your Pi Chi that you had received no bid on bid day.

Really? My Pi Chi told me that suiciding a sorority would automatically put me at the bottom of their list. I wish I had known otherwise now, but oh well.

This fall would be a great opportunity for a junior to join the new sorority, Pi Beta Phi, which will be colonizing this year. I think they would be open to having upperclassman.
