are unaffiliated fraternities worth it?

I'm going to rush this semester and no one that I've talked to has given me the pros of joining an unaffiliated fraternity such as sigma chi or theta chi. Right now I'm set on checking out sigma pi and kappa sig. Are unaffiliated fraternities like EX and OX worth checking out? I was told they can't do Greek week, socials with sororities, sports, and anything with the school, which is a huge disappointment and I don't know if I would want to be apart of that. What are the pros of joining EX or OX?

Join sigma chi! We are known as the badd boys on campus ;) we left school affiliation because we wanted to be known as the rebels! We pull all the top tier ADPis and aphis because they all see my body and come flock to me...
