why is it called csu and not csuc?

This is techieicallly Cal State U Chico. So why isn't is CSUC?

This is Cal State Chico. Not Chico State. There is no state called Chico.

This has been California State University, Chico since 1972. Chico State is a slang for it. But we are a Cal State.

The name of this school Is CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, CHICO. "Chico State" is slang, wrong, and inappropriate. Have some pride in our school.
