clarification
by: SeniorJust so we're all clear, as new and exciting as Pi Phi might be, they are definitely not a hot or top sorority or viewed that way by other chapters. We fully acknowledge that many of their members are on this page as they are trying to build some sort of image here and try to seem better. They aren't. They weren't as successful as Kappa was last year, sorry. So please DISREGARD them as considered "top" or even "mid", they are a bottom tier sorority, at the bottom actually and have a lot to do to catch up.

I was afraid this would happen. The accepted "bottom" house is gone and now the sororities that have been considered "lower tier" for a while are scared of being the new bottom. While I agree Pi Phi definitely isn't a top house, it just seems like you're trying to make sure there's still a house below yours. Shouldn't the point of what happened to Phi Sig be that branding someone "the bottom house" is completely unfair to a great group of girls? I was really hoping something so sad would make people rethink ranking sororities to the point where no one wants to associate with them.

I agree. I'm a phi sig alumni. And it is painful to know that my chapter was shut down because of reputation. But I have to say that so called " lower tier" sororities work just as hard to keep a good reputation as the higher ones. So original poster, it isn't right to say that your sorority is the only one that does such a thing and also all sororities are a "legit" sisterhood no matter the size or how new they are....

The epsilon delta chapter of phi sig was shut down not due to size in general but due to size in comparison to the other sororities on campus. Headquarters decided that it wasn't fair to the girls of phi sig ( whether the girls agree or not) to keep the chapter together because the experience of someone in a sorority that is smaller than the rest is much harder than someone in a larger sorority. Mainly spreading out the work and responsibilities is much harder between 80 girls than it is between 200-250 girls. The pledges get to COB any sorority on campus. And rush again in the spring if they would like.

Phi SIg is a very small national sorority and doesn't have a lot of resources to help their chapters like many of the larger and stronger ones. They also have few California chapters and not a lot of local alumnae to support them. It just wasn't a situation that they could pull out of.

Why is there always someone attacking the sorority that never seems to participate on this site? Your choice of picking on the lovely ladies in Phi Sig and Pi Phi is just sad because they are probably too sweet and happy enough with their sisterhoods to even acknowledge your attacks. And also the only images of these sororities seem to be of other people ranking them so how are they trying to build an image for themselves? They're probably all too busy trying to get to know each other and build their sorority to even look at this crap if they even know this site exists

The first comment (which was pretty well written) just told everyone to stop with this stuff. And then you continue to bash other chapters? Can we all stop saying negative stuff about each other? Can we please act like we aren't in high school anymore? Leave Pi Phi and Phi Sig alone. On that note, leave DG, APhi, GPhi, Theta, AGD, Kappa, and TriDelta alone to. Grow up.

I wrote this original post, and no the point was not because the "low tier" chapters feel threatened.....? or at least that wasn't my case. I'm in a chapter that works hard to keep up it's reputation, considered a top house fyi, and I don't appreciate sororities coming in with their big names and pretending they are popular and a legit sisterhood when they have only just begun. Pi Phi is trying way too hard, misleading people on this page. It think THAT, needs to be clarified.
