Dear Class of 2019 and other PNMs rushing this fall,
First off, if you don't know what a PNM is, it's just Potential New Member. :)
So you think you want to join Greek life. Greek life at chapman is a fun and exciting way to get involved on campus, go to fun events, do amazing philanthropy work and meet friends you will share for a lifetime. Each chapter (sorority) has a unique group of girls that can't wait for you to join! Some of the messages on this site are really negative, which is very disappointing to me.
I am a senior. I rushed my freshman year and dropped because the rush process didn't sit right with me. I rushed again my sophomore year and found the sorority that I clicked with the most. What's important in the rush process is trusting your gut. My freshman year my head told me "join! You'll have instant friends" but my guy told me "now isn't the right time to join."
The most important thing you can do is to listen to how you feel about each sorority. The label doesn't matter. You should be joining a sorority for the sisterhood, not the title.
