by: HmmHow competitive is rush here? Do a lot of girls get dropped or end up houseless? Do you need letters of rec or connections to get a good house?

Not extremely competitive but not easy either, I suppose. I would say more people drop themselves than get dropped (for recruitment in general not for a house). Don't need letters of rec, but if someone you know personally offers to write you one you shouldn't refuse, and connections can obviously help but there is never a guarantee. All in all, stressing out won't help you. Relax, stay positive, and remember that all the houses have something to offer you. If a house doesn't want you, why would you want them back? And if a house wants you, they see something special in you, so why throw that away? Luck and love~ an active

There are 4 days now so not sure how cuts will go versus the 3 days from last year, but although it is called "mutual selection" it is the houses that do most of the choosing up until the last round (pref). Pref means "I want you," and it's rare to get dropped from there. However, some PMNs will drop out of recruitment if a certain house they want drops them. I highly advise against dropping out just because your favorite isn't in the running anymore. Give everyone a chance, attend everything you are invited to, and think about what you really want from a sorority. Then you can choose whether you want to accept a bid or not.

It honestly really depends. But truthfully every house is great. And just being part of the Greek community is awesome, and for each sorority whatever you put into it, is what you are going to get out of it! So don't be too worried about not getting the houses you want because it will all work out in the end! Good luck!!

Do you a lot of girls end up getting dropped by houses everyday or do the girls end up doing more of the dropping?
