For the most part, we are just wary of taking in academic risks. Each sorority has a minimum GPA their members have to maintain (like 2.7) or you get put on academic probation, etc. So, naturally, we don't want members who are going to be on academic probation all the time and bring our average GPA down. I wouldn't say having a 3.0 vs a 3.8 matters really (though the 3.8 is awesome obviously), but a 2.7 versus a 3.0....going to have to think about that. Again, varies from sorority to sorority, and idk about which GPA we actually receive, but being below a 3.0 can be risky.
