Are letters of rec a thing here? My 2 bffs are in sororities at different schools and one told me it's a must and the other said she rolls her eyes at girls with recs and not to? What's it like here?

Rec letters aren't big or "a must" at most places outside of the south but they can't hurt

Do you recommended I get some or is it not even worth it? Is it popular/ does it make a big difference?

I had one letter of recommendation and that sorority didn't even invite me back after round one, lol. The active brought up religion and I'm not super religious so it got awkward real fast. XD. I would say the conversation/connection is therefore far more important than a letter of recommendation.
