How competitive is sorority rush? Do most get a bid?

Pretty much every girl will get at least one bid somewhere. Depending on which sorority you want to join, it could be more competitive but pretty much everyone gets a bid from a chapter regardless. Not nearly as competitive as fraternity rush.

I know a handful of girls who didn't get bids last year, but I'd imagine that they were not too nice to the chapters they didn't want to get into. So if you're nice to everyone, you'll most likely get a bid. That doesn't guarantee that you'll be happy with the chapter that you get a bid from, but I do recommend sticking with it for a couple weeks to see if you change your mind about that chapter.
